Lovely place for a stroll. The grounds are very spacious and beautiful. To get close to the Abbey you have to pay, but its not absolutely necessary as a walk around the grounds is just as nice.
What an experience! We were lucky with the weather and had a fantastic walk to the water gardens first, before sitting outside to eat our cheeseburgers and coffee. We then walked round the abbey, enjoying the floodlit buildings and the atmospheric song of the monks, echoing up the tall tower. It was all very safe with hot food, plenty of places to sit, all outdoors of course and adequate toilets. All in all, a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend.
Visited this place numerous times in the past and it is always spectacular and picturesque no matter the season. The Abbey ruins are extensive and breathtaking giving you an idea of the true size of the place going back to when the monks were in residence. The Studley Royal Water Garden is idyllic with breathtaking vistas and monuments to see. The views are fantastic and a must see back up the valley towards the Abbey from the periphery of the water garden. Overall it is an absolute delightful place to visit.
This is one of my favourite places and somewhere we visited often . The Abbey ruins are a wonderful sight and the grounds are beautifully kept. There is a lovely waterside walk, following the river down to the Water Garden, there you will find a little cafe with seating outside. Visit the little church, the many little Folly's and the Deer park whilst you're there.
There's loads of room for parking and picnicking too. A great day out.
Stunning location. Great place to visit and spend a few hours (if it's dry) good facilities at the entrance. You could access the toilets & cafe without passing the entry barrier.
