This is a lovely place to visit, and great for dogs. The Wirral path can become congested with cyclists, so bear that in mind if you have dogs, but I got there early (about 8.30, on a Sunday morning) and find it to be lovely and quiet for the most part. The cafe is great too, and dog friendly.

Lovely views from the top of the cliffs across the estuary. BBQ facilities for families, parkland for relaxing. It was free to park then you can access the beach via the steps. Beach is OK for dogs all year. Unless you live there you won't understand that alternative access to and the from the beach is restricted due to dangerous cliffs, signage refers to local known names and is confusing for new visitors.

Tha first official country park in Britain, opened in 1973. The walk along the cliff tops overlooking the Dee estuary with North Wales in the distance is spectacular. Great place for a picnic too.

Lots of room , very clean and tidy, talked to one of the staff, very helpful. Only concern , was the likely possibility of thriving from parked cars. I should have known better , but left my wife's bag on view, thankfully I was lucky, but was a bit worried when a lady was brushing up glass next to my car. Lucky for me , but sorry for them . We had a nice visit which would have been ruined.

Beautiful place, especially with the new free parking, it was great to see so many people keeping to the social distancing guidelines and still have plenty of space. Very clean and tidy, thank you everyone who look after this place.
