Great place for walks with the kid, with the family, with your dogs or even on your own. If you like woodland walks, we'll this is for you. Parking is free on both sides to the woodland. Good variety of trees, plants, flowers and wildlife.

A good old fashioned walk in the woods. Plenty of trails to make it as long or as short as you want. Worth while in all seasons

Great place for dog walking. Best stick to the main paths as its easy to end up taking a dead end into a load of nettles. Do not wears shorts if you do!

Been here a couple of times for a walk. It is a massive forest - probably the biggest I've ever been to. There's so many intertwining paths all over the place. It is a nice relaxing walk throughout - no really steep gradients or anything. I tend to stick to the northern section of the forest but if you cross the road to the southern part - you'll not find it's not as good. Looks like they've been cutting down some trees and the paths are a mess, full of rocks. It's kinda boring too compared to the northern part - there's not really many differing paths in the southern section. The car park for Bishop Wood does get full pretty quickly though. By about 11AM on a Sunday, it was totally full and I got there at 9AM. You might see a few people there but because the forest is so big, you don't often bump into other people when you're walking.

A great place to walk with a many different routes to take. The footpaths are all well maintained and you can often walk for hours without meeting anyone else. The parking is adequate, but there is barely any signage which makes navigation difficult.
