I am a first time buyer and was really happy with Fidler & Pepper Lawyers, highly responsive & made the process really smooth & quick . Especially Beth & Kay were outstanding throughout the process. Highly recommended

We used Fidler and Pepper for our recent sale and purchase. The service from Kay and Beth in particular was absolutely diabolical. They were completely unresponsive, only part replying if they ever did reply by email and when you try to call the receptionist takes a message and they only call back about every fifth time! Our exchange was delayed 5 days Vs plan because they didn’t secure a document from the land registry (after weeks of chasing we called ourselves and got in minutes), then sent a fax to the wrong hsbc number and we ended up having to get our own redemption. Please save yourself the stress and hassle and avoid this company - nothing could honestly be worse and you’ll end up doing a load of the work yourselves and still having to pay them to do it! Completely unprofessional, would never use again.

FIlder & Pepper helped me with my first mortgage and I must say the process was very smooth up until the time around completion. All the searches and local authority documents were landing with me dialy in the inbox which I think was quite impressive, however then the process got quieter for a few weeks with me asking for an update and being told 'the other side is not ready yet' which of course can happen. It was up until the moment I received a call from my seller's solicitors informing that everyone in the chain is ready, the completion was agreed for Friday but my solicitors do not answer their calls and if I could step in. When I tried to contact them to clarify the situation how I was not informed of the completion, I was told my solicitor is busy, they do not know when he'll be available but I can keep trying calling them (I called them 4 times on that day!) - how unprofessional no to offer a call back in such a stressful time. My completion would then take another 2 weeks for them to sort out and it was only confirmed a day before picking up the keys. I'm sure they're all very busy but maybe it would be more viable to take on less cases and keep the customer service up?

Our buyer is using these people to buy our house. Absolutely hopeless. Enquiries sent on 19.10.20. We responded to enquiries on 20.10.20. No response or acknowledgement. 17.11.20 through our progressor we were told that they were waiting for a document that doesn't exist because it wasn't required, which would have been confirmed on the survey report. We chased on 18.11.20 advising document not required and requesting contract for signing and TR1. "The Porch is exempt from Building Regulations as it is at ground level and 30 square meters. The front door entrance has not been changed either. Your clients surveyor should have confirmed this within their survey report." No response. Today 4.12.20 spoke to our progressor. We are still waiting for our buyer's side. What they are doing is anyone's guess and our solicitor has had to chase Fidler & Pepper yet again. We have no idea how long our buyer's mortgage offer is valid for and whether our solicitor will receive a timely response if at all. We are wondering whether we need to put our estate agent on notice to re-market our property. Our sale was a "clean" sale in that it is uncomplicated. The property is empty, mortgage free and there have been no major alterations. Why Fidler & Pepper have made such a "meal" of the process can only be speculated on. However, having read the reviews below the resounding theme throughout is appalling lack of communication and no motivation on their part to conveyance property on a timely basis.

The person buying our house had to use these solicitors. The service Jessica and Chris provided was absolutely appalling. They did not keep the buyer informed, I had to email him documents. Something that should have taken 2 weeks took 2 months. They did not answer my solicitor's email, the buyer's or their broker's. They rarely returned calls. Only when the managing director got involved things started to move slowly. The mortgage offer had 1 day until expiration and no one could get hold of them. Horrible experience and I didn't even have to deal with them directly!
