Have enjoyed every part of the planning of our reconfiguration of existing bungalow. Enjoyed our meetings and all our own revisions to plans were discussed and implemented. Work experience as an architect at Architecture North has been fruitful so far! I was able to learn and deliver my best with the guidance of the director, Lewis North.
The effort put in to deliver the best quality of work is at its epitome whilst working on projects, and that has definitely helped me grow as a designer.
We wanted to add another bedroom to our house so we could have a spare bedroom. Plus we thought we could extend the ground floor by adding an tension to improve our kitchen space.
We invited Lewis to visit my property where he attended for a free consultation, where he listened to the details of what I want to achieve whilst going on a tour of the whole house, garden included, he presented us with a sketch that in just a few minutes me and my husband were sold. He was able to transmit clearly innovative ideas and colourful suggestions on how we could improve our family home.
Lewis was able to provide us with a professional service whilst giving us invaluable tips on how we could create much needed storage solutions and improve the flow and luminosity including roof lights and changing our roof pitch of a multi-use space, for my whole family to enjoy, whilst also tying in the existing bathroom into the rear elevation by increasing the headlight and including a rear window which fills the room into much needed natural lighting.
Listening to Lewis describe how to improve our home with such an unrivalled passion and attention to detail was uplifting and encouraging for our project. He was extremely supportive and understanding. I don’t think our project would be completed without him.

I needed planning permission to convert our garage, along with a rear/side extension for an open plan kitchen/dining and lounge space for our pool table and upstairs a bedroom with ensuite and home office. As I have never done this before I decided to use a professional service. I contacted Architecture North who visited promptly and gave me good advice and suggestions. I then subsequently engaged them to submit the planning application.
I had good communications throughout the procedure and as a result I would highly recommend them to anyone requiring this type of service. Their help has been fantastic, advising us on the interior layouts, and assisting with the kitchen design, enabling us to keep parts of our kitchen and extending it making it look it was part of the original design. I would highly recommend them. My application was subsequently approved. Our builder found an un expected steel beam within the lost space, but Lewis and his team had already taken into account an additional beam as he surveyed the the space, this was such a relief at the time. Building an extension is stressful but Lewis and his team were so helpful and polite throughout the whole process. Thank you!
