Really fascinating place. Very much gardens rather than rural walking, but the grounds are stunning and the gardens are endless, including large vegetable gardens and orchards. It's £8 per person, and I can see why it's considered better value in the summer when you can take a picnic. But a real hidden gem, even in winter, and something a bit different. We went with two friends, all in our 30s, and enjoyed every second. It's worth grabbing a guide when you pay for your tickets as you learn so much about what you're looking at. Oh and the chickens are amazing!
Had wanted to go for a long time and it did not disappoint! The gardens are peaceful and unspoiled by being commercialised (as the website says!) bring a picnic and spend the whole afternoon finding all the sculptures and features. The walled garden really is worth it in harvest season too!
