Have been using hay vets for a few years now for our horse and Barney has always been our vet of choice there. Despite being quite a distance from Hay they are always prompt and on time. Not only is the customer service always excellent from the reception to of course Barney but the quality of care received is always faultless. Barney is knowledgable and has an excellent soothing manner around the horses that seem to put them (and us!) at ease immediately. He is always thoughrough in his treatment and investigations and explains everything he's doing. I have seen many vets over the years of owning horses and can whole heartedly say Barney and Hay Vets have been the best we have ever used.

Hay vets handled a difficult situation with great sensitivity and professionalism. Hannah showed us why her colleagues are so competent and caring; she sets a very good example and their level of commitment has to be praised for their efforts to save our valued and much missed little dog,who gave the family over 11 years of her love. Thanks for all your efforts.

Expensive. Very expensive. Our Jack Russell required a tooth out. Hay vets charged us £300. Silly me. Having left him at the surgery for the op, I called a neighbouring vet to see what they'd charge (just to reassure myself that £300 was 'good value', as I was told). '£120' said the neighbouring vet. Can't be, I thought. I called another, '£140'. I called another, 'under £200'. In all I called 8 vets in the local area (Hereford, Abergavenny, Kington). None came close to £300. I took this up with Hay Vets. 'Sorry.... too late' I was told (actually, forget the 'sorry' bit). 'You should have phoned around before agreeing to the fee'. They've got a point. I should have. If I did I'd be £180 richer. So my advice is to follow their advice. Before agreeing to anything - get a few quotes. You may be surprised, like me.

We used Hays under some of the most emotional circumstances, and we and our pet were treated with concern and respect. All the staff were friendly and professional, and left us in no doubt that we were in the best of hands. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My beloved borzoi suffered a life-threatening condition on Friday evening, it truly was a medical emergency, and there cannot be any doubt that the vets and staff at Hay Vets saved his life. The care that he was given was absolutely outstanding, and everyone was also exceptionally kind to his distressed owner. Absolutely first-class teamwork.
