Beautifuld old fashion underground station. It can get busy at the rush hours. Its located right in the center and great starting point for your London tour. The only min point is that there are only stairs, in the case you have heavy luggage with you, you better use the neighbouring underground as Liverpool Street.

Great starting point for London tours. 5 minute walk from Tower Bridge and the Towers of London. Trains are clean and provide easy access to other parts of London.

Very miserable underground station. A lot of narrow stairs to go. The platforms of all three lines is literally 2 meters wide! Air in the station is very very dusty! Everywhere there is garbage and dirt! And one of the worst is that in none of London's underground stations there is mobile network coverage. In every other city that I have visited there is, but no London is special why to put mobile coverage in the subway......

Great tube station ....Aldgate station was opened on 18 November 1876, with a southbound extension to Tower Hill opening on 25 September 1882, completing the Circle (line). Services from Aldgate originally ran further west than they do now, reaching as far as Richmond. The train shed of 1876 survives, hidden from the street by the later station frontage building erected in 1926. This was designed by Charles Walter Clark the Metropolitan Railway's chief architect between 1911 and 1933.
