I cannot speak highly enough about Cave Vet Specialists. My local vet realised that my dog had an unusual collection of symptoms and recommended that we went to Cave. Nele Van den Steen did the original investigations and diagnosed an extra-hepatic liver shunt and we were referred to Ross Doust as surgeon in the same day. I felt extremely reassured looking at the level of qualifications and experience of their vets especially after googling how challenging it is to obtain those qualifications. I felt that Ross very clearly talked me through what was happening and what options there were. Whilst there can never be a guarantee of outcome, I was and am absolutely convinced that I couldn't have put my dog in safer hands than his. The nursing team took exceptional care to get Sid back to functioning again as soon as possible, even bribing him to eat the day after surgery with cocktail sausages. My vet said she's known them use steamed chicken as well. Sid is now 2 weeks after his operation and really well. I would absolutely recommend Cave. Dr Alison Battersby

Unfortunately I am having a return visit to CAVE with a new animal, last time was to have my previous dog put to sleep. However, the level of care here is amazing for our pets, and I wish we could use this hospital as humans when we were ill. They're fantastic!

Started off really well with chemotherapy courses for my two dogs diagnosed with terminal cancer. Then the vets and nurses that were caring for my dogs all left leaving just one vet to deal with all cases. Appointment times became difficult, waiting times increased. Come the end i didn’t even get a private consultation, they just left me in the waiting room with my terminally ill dog on two occasions and sent me home without an opportunity to talk in private to a vet. I can’t possibly explain how deflated and upset I felt driving home with my dying boy in the back of the car after another wasted day. After reassurance from my local vet they could care for my boy I settled my account at reception and we said our farewells. I’ve moved house since then and have just found out I have a solicitors letter chasing £250 on behalf of their client Cave Vets. Apparently they have been pursuing it for months due to a glitch with an insurance claim. The solicitor has stated in the letter that Cave have attempted to contact me numerous times by phone and yet i never received one phone call or an email ,my preferred contact method. I contacted Cave to discuss but they advised it’s now out of their hands and I must deal with the solicitor. Spent over 10k with Cave and paid promptly for every visit and treatment I had over the 2 years. I’m left bitterly disappointed with the level of care received at the end of the process and a lack of contact over the final bill is inexcusable.
