Took over 3 months to return “my” deposit for the unit I was renting! I’ve been renting a unit from south staffs council for 5 years, had a bad burglary and the council promised cctv, it never happened and it took 2 years to repair a damaged shutter from the burglary, it was literally hanging off until something was done ! My advice is DO NOT rent a unit/ office off the council... !!!

Wish I could put zero stars. Maybe if it was actually best is South Staffs it might help.

Tried to get in touch with planning dept. Receptionist transferred me to Staffordshire Borough Council whereby I was kept holding for 15 mins then call was disconnected by woman who didn't say more than hello or who she was. So I emailed them concerning land that Cannock Council said was Staffordshire Councils responsibility as it comes under south Staffordshire but all I got was brief email from their planning department saying I'd sent it to the wrong authority! 😡

Poor service all around, high rates and rude staff. Refused to provide me with a wheelie bin for my own property. Very poor response to COVID19 increasing the risk of catching the virus. Council Tax is a waste of money with these lazy public sector people. They really do live in a different world

I am sleeping on the streets tonight after south staffs have kicked me out of my temporary accommodation because they had a complaint that I was smoking in my room, I know for a fact this did not happen as it was the lady in the room opposite me who smoked.... I've rang and told them that I have physical and mental illness I have no where else to go and they won't even give me any paperwork to prove to another council that they are refusing to help me any further... The whole time I've been with them they have treated me with zero Compassion or empthay they have been nothing short of unprofessional and incompotent... If I were you I would never turn to this council unless you ha e no other choice they shouldn't be allowed to get away with what they do on a daily basis!!!
