We bought our house through Sam (Samantha Austin) in 2016 and were seriously impressed at her professionalism and hard work. Without her our chain would never have progressed.
4 years later we've just moved again for my new job and when it came to selling we could not have made a better decision than going back to Sam. If anything we were even more impressed than last time and thoroughly recommend using Taylor Engall.
We rented a house through Taylor Engall when we moved to Moreton Hall. Sam is straightforward to deal with, responsive when any house issues have arisen, and professional throughout. Best letting agent we've dealt with.
Sam and her team are very professional, they have looked after our properties for the last 9 years. Her experience and knowledge of the local market is outstanding . Well worth a call...
We have only been in our house almost 2 months but so far have had none of the issues some of the other reviewers seem to have had. Our agent Jordan is always very helpful and accommodating. My only issue upon move in was the carpets were not cleaned and we pre-pay a hefty cleaning fee for move out. When I asked around, I was told this is common in England (we are American). As far as other small issues with our house, the agency usually sends or has someone call ASAP. We inquired about some cosmetic changes and some broken oven knobs, a loose toilet knob, a broken fan, and a chipped bathroom ceiling. All have been addressed already and are fixed or in the process of being fixed. We love our house and agency so far!
Do not use Taylor Engell - This is why?
My partner and I rented a 3 bed detached property in Bury St Edmunds at a cost of £1250 per month.
Within our first month we noticed that the extractor fan didn't work and the kitchen walls needed painting. After weeks are complaining the extractor fan was replaced. We gave up on the kitchen walls...it just wasn't worth the effort.
Then 3 months in the main shower pretty much stopped working. After 2 months of complaining and an email sent to Taylor Engell and the landlord stating I was going to stop paying rent - it was eventually fixed. Well i say fixed...it never really worked properly again!
The worst part with Taylor Engell is yet to come!
After leaving the property Taylor Engell claimed damages for;
- A new hallway and stair carpet (in fact normal wear and tear, some of which existed before we moved in)
- Kitchen walls to be painted (They claimed that they had been professionally painted before we moved in. Just not the case. We had photographic evidence)
- Cracked driveway slab (natural wear and tear. All we did was park our car on the driveway)
We argued for weeks, eventually getting these issues dismissed as we were either able to provide photographic evidence or the claim being dismissed as we were prepared to go to arbitration at the DPS.
I should mention that we dropped hair dye on the bathroom en suite floor so paid for that to be replaced.
Taylor Engell and the landlord for this property do the very least to support their tenants. They are intent on using your tenants deposit with the DPS as a new for old insurance policy or a way to get cash!!
My recommendation - Keep Clear
