I haven’t been a pet owner for very long and this is my first experience. My son rescued a kitten from a building site and brought it home to me. I had to google a lot of information but when we went to get supplies from Pets at home, we joined their VIP scheme. We registered Olive with Vets for Pets and booked in her first health check. Since then she has had her injections, treatments and recently been spayed. At every single point the staff have been amazing. I’ve spoken to at least 4 different nurses and one vet and all of them have been very understanding about my lack of knowledge and have explained everything simply to me and been very supportive. They have answered my seemingly simple questions with care and thought for Olive and myself. They make me feel as though I can ask anything and they are happy to help. The calls aren’t rushed and they explain everything with kindness. I feel as though Olive is very much cared for when she visits the surgery. Thank you all.

We had to take our cat for a respiratory problem he seemed to be hair balling or having Asama attack every other day. I had informed the vet of these attacks and sent a video I had recorded of him having an attack and asked specifically for the vet Josh to view this before he did the procedure where he would put him asleep and take xrays of his chest etc We where also told at the last consultation that he needed his teeth cleaning and may need some extractions but they would ring me to discuss before removing the teeth. So on arriving at the vets I met with Josh who told me what they would be doing. I asked if he had viewed the video I sent in and he said no but he would look at it before he looked at my cat. He also out of the blue asked me if I wanted blood tests etc which would cost an extra £50 I thought this was out of order and should have been discussed before I took him for his appointment. It seemed he was just trying to get quick money from me after we had already paid over £500. When we brought him home later in the day the vet called us to explain his thoughts on his condition. I asked if he had viewed our video and he said no and that it wouldn’t have made any difference with the diagnosis. I was so mad at this. I was also annoyed because when I took him that morning he said while under Anesthesia he would remove any bad teeth but would ring us before to explain so was amazed when he said you will have to book him in for teeth extraction when he could have easily done this while he was asleep thus saving him being put to sleep again and the risks with that on such a small cat and also the cost aspect Regarding the respiratory issue he said more tests would be needed to try and diagnose what the problem is all at a massive cost to us. We have been to this vet for years but that’s it now we are moving away they are clearly money makers who obviously do not listen to their customers. I must add the reception staff are always really nice no complaints on that front.

Josh was fantastic, explained everything & was great with Stella who’s 14 years old. Made the experience of having to hand your dog over a lot easier.

Far to much Covid restrictions. Poor dog had to go in vets on her own. Then you have to wait in the car and pay over the phone. I do think wearing a mask and paying by card actually in the vets is reasonable. Even my doctors are not this restricted.

My cat was being spayed and the nurse explained clearly what would occur during and after the procedure. Our feline is sensitive by nature and we were concerned as Ava was stressed on the journey to the vets. The nurse was very reassuring. We relayed to the nurse that Ava calmed down when we sang to her and again she reassured us they had the radio on. Every step of the journey was explained thoroughly and we knew Ava was in the best care. We have 5 cats and they have all been to the Vets4Pets for one reason or another. We have mainly had appointments with Karina who is amazing with animals, her care and attention to detail is second to none. Josh is excellent also.. All the staff are friendly and professional and we would not go anywhere else! For so many reasons I would not hesitate to highly recommend Vets$Pets in Preston they are a great team.
