Tom has really helped me make progress in guitar. He covers all aspects of theory and playing - using my own ideas for pieces I would like to learn as well as those he thinks will show my developing ability. He is always very supportive during lessons and provides me with the materials needed during the lesson, if not straight after. I have been learning with Tom for over a year now and he has totally reignited my passion for this instrument. I would definitely recommend Tom to anyone - the best guitar teacher I have had since the beginning of my learning at the age of 9. B (15 years old)

Tom is a great guitar teacher. I have been having lessons with him for several years now, and he recently helped me through my Grade 5 classical guitar. I particularly like his vast knowledge of suitable repertoire, choosing pieces that both suit my preferences and build different skills. He also has a lovely calm personality that I am sure makes him great with pupils of all ages (I am an adult learner).

After a year of jazz-guitar focussed tuition with Tom, he has provided excellent guidance and insight into how to work towards my established goals, with great consistency in communication, lesson content and feedback. Through detailed, personal lesson plans, I feel that my development within soloing, music theory and a thorough ability to transcribe have been massively improved through regular lessons with Tom and I couldn't recommend him more!

Tom is an excellent and patient teacher. His breadth of knowledge and experience is such that there doesn't seem to be any guitar style which is outside his scope. I had previously played for more than twenty years to a moderate level. In the couple of years that I've been taking lessons with Tom he has consistently helped me to find new ways to approach thinking about my guitar playing and new challenges to keep me progressing. Also I've found online lessons on Zoom during the Covid lockdown have been just as effective as lessons in person. Highly recommended.

They say that age is no barrier to making music. This is so true, especially if you have a teacher that has the patience that Tom has. I was sixty eight years young when I went to Tom for some classical guitar lessons. Not having picked up a guitar for over fifty years I was extremely nervous about taking lessons but Tom soon put me at my ease. Now I can read some music and there is something magical in being able to read the notes and transcribe them to the fret board.
