Beware, cruelty masked behind polite smiles and no empathy I went to the cafe today with my elderly mother. While there she really needed to use the toilet, which was closed. I asked politely if she could use it and I explained that due to her diabetes she really had to use it, as she was getting really ill and shaky. I was informed that the manager had to be asked and that I could possibly take her to squires, which wasn't an option as she was really ill by that time. After asking four times finally the manager came to inform us that he wasn't going to open the toilet. At this time my mother had to vomit as well. But he refused point blank to let her use the toilet. I understand there are covid-19 related restrictions, but this situation was plainly cruel and totally lacking in empathy. I would have disinfected the toilet myself after my mum had used it. I also do not think that a cafe should operate with no toilets. The manager, quite sharply informed us that they do not have to open the toilets. I believe exceptions should be made in case of illness. I am very disappointed and I shall never set foot on that cafe again.

Fabulous range of fruit and veg, top quality and far tastier than supermarket fare. Smell the strawberries by the door on the way in, it will take you back to the times when fruit and veg had flavour and gives a really good indication of what to expect from the rest of the produce. Fresh meat counter looks top quality, though didn't purchase on this occasion. Small range of dairy items, plus pickles, chutneys, jams and a range of truffle products. Garden centre out back, café on the side, a perfect place to while away a few hours, turning a chore into a delight. All in all a little slice of heaven!

Great choice of fresh fruit and vegetables and a butchers with a wide range of produce. Garden center also with a range of bedding plants and shubs.

Disappointing to see staff yesterday restocking the fruit and vegetables but not wearing a mask properly. Chin masks are no good wearing, a mask protects me and protects you. I won’t be shopping here again any time soon.
