Having been raised a quarter of a mile from here, I've visited 'Blue Lake' many times. It's a lovely place to walk around and absorb the sights and sounds of nature, albeit with the occasional interruption from the A3. If you follow the main path over the boardwalk from Stoke Lock and towards and through the woods, you'll find more of the "Dragon's Teeth" put in place to complement those at London Road Station. Follow the path on to reach the Spectrum and Stoke Park. Probably the best place for parking to reach the lake is at the Spectrum, as the small car park near the Lock fills quickly. The only downside for this place is courtesy of humans - litter and occasional evil little cowards with inferiority complexes who get off on harming wildlife. Other than that it's a great place for a family picnic, walk or simply to sit and relax.

Nice nature reserve with alot here from the brilliant boardwalk that takes you through a reed and wetlands environment. To the large lake and its birdlife and flowers. Further is the river/ canal and its picturesque locks and boats. Modest attraction which shows what nature is all about. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘
