Would strongly advise against booking. After reading the reviews before booking, I made sure to avoid the problems I'd read that previous customers had encountered e.g. submitting all the paperwork/proof of address online prior to hiring the car. On the hire day, after arriving, we should have known as soon as we walked in that things weren't going to go as planned. We had to wait the best part of half an hour to be seen (with no explanation as to when someone would serve us or what the hold up was - basically there was absolutely zero customer service and no apology of this), so already 30 minutes when we should have been on the road, we were told our car was not ready and would be another 40 minutes. So they'd already broken the contract which we agreed in terms of hire car start time and at this point we received no apology. After waiting another 50 minutes we asked for an update, which they didn't have. They decided because we were chasing, they'd ring the garage the hire car was at and we were told the car we had booked was not going to be ready quickly but there was another car currently being seen in a garage that could be 40 minutes away. This didn't seem to be guaranteed either and there were lots of hushed calls and conversations going on which made the whole thing feel sketchy. We also booked the most comprehensive coverage only to arrive and be told we'd have to pay another £50 to cover any glass or alloy damage. We asked for a refund and hired a car from a company at Gatwick airport - much quicker and less stress. Definitely worth paying slightly more to go with a company you have heard of and can rely on. Zero customer service, operation run by absolute cowboys - DO NOT USE.

Rented through a third party (discover cars). The pick-up location is not at Gatwick Airport but you need to take a bus first. Office is a little backroom of the Crown Plaza Hotel. All still acceptable I guess, considering the price. But I should have known better. UK residents need to give two proofs of address. Then they wouldn't accept an oil bill as proof of address. Staff was rude. When I finally managed to get the paperwork they come with the requirement of a credit card and 1500 euro deposit or alternatively take another insurance (I had already one through discover cars) that would cost me 420 pounds. I refused to pay, was about to leave and miraculously it was only 230 pounds. Which was the same amount as the total rental. I respectfully declined. So just make sure you have the paperwork and credit card with you!

**AVOID!!!! NO REFUND. Wouldn’t even give the 1 star but had no choice July 2020: Paid upfront cost prior to renting van. Had phone call half hour before collection time say they had no vans due to window being smashed. Easirent said we would be refunded, still waiting a 6 months later. January 2021: Still awaiting £100 refund **AVOID

Victor the manager polite, respectful and helpful. That's where it ends. The 2 year old van appeared to be 20 years old and used by the most dirty builders imaginable. The tyres at the front were on 1 bar instead of 3, the dipped beam on both sides wasn't working, I had to go and get the bulbs replaced, the brake warning light was on ( low pads, low fluid ??). The adblue wasn't topped up and I had top it up. Other than that I suppose it ran and I should be grateful for that. Make your own decision.. By the way beware of the £1500 you have to pay as a deposit.

Very helpful and friendly. Not well advertised but they do a free key drop facility for early morning returns. Taxi or bus to terminal when shuttle not working
