Hertz - LGW - London Gatwick South

With regret I am posting this review I have used hertz rental cars all over the world I have always been happy and delighted with the service That was until today when I had terrible experience My car which I agreed to extend the hire agreement until Sunday 30 august I received a telephone from lorraine at hertz rental Gatwick airport Lorraine was extremely threatening and rude ( not usual polite hertz staff) My previous email to her was that I was extending my rental until Sunday 30 august I was charged for extension period until Sunday 30 august Lorraine told me that I had failed to reply to her email Untrue I had never received Emil reply At 2pm a representative from hertz called at office where I was working Without any manners he demanded that I stopped working He informed me that he had seized the car and wanted the key back to the car I had to interrupt my work in the office which was obvious to everyone I want outside to back of building where I found my private possessions very embarrassing literally dumped on the side of the road I had private correspondence letters bank statements blowing around the street The car was gone even though I paid for it up to Sunday 30 august My driving glasses and prescription reading glasses along with keys to my property were all missing I am physically disabled and no regard was shown to my disability I drive automatic car to help me cope The representative from hertz then drove with my possessions in the car I phoned hertz rent a car and spoke to Lorraine who accused me of threatening her Lorraine put phone down I redialled and spoke to her colleague Julie who told that it never happened That I made the whole thing up I then put Danielle secretary present on the phone who was eye witness to the whole episode I asked that the car be redelivered back to me along with my possessions I explained that hertz were in breach of contract as I had paid up until Sunday I was told that this was in in the policy and procedures

Is all okay but I think I would find it easier if outside signage for collection and drop off were clearer

Collecting was good and slick. Helpful staff. The car was fine. Return staff was a bit abrupt and I got lost so leave plenty of time for return.

Excellent service but they never refunded my deposit. Q4 Audi returned on time no scratches or damages and fuel was refilled .Kindly refund my credit card Finally seen the deposit refunded...

I reserved a Mercedes E Class (large car) from London Gatwick South. When I arrived I was assigned a cheap small SUV and promised it was an upgrade, although I still paid for the large luxury sedan. On the lot, there were several larger cars but they did not inform me of such. I ordered the Hertz Connect Handset when I made the reservation. When I arrived, the agent insisted I needed to pay a steep fee although I told them it was free of charge on the reservation. They argued with me until I finally showed the reservation receipt which said free of charge. At that point they quickly checked and said they didn’t have any of the devices anyway! After I arrived, queued for a long time, and argued with, I am surprised at myself that I didn’t just go to a different company.
