Travel Republic Travel Insurance

Booked a 4 star Hotel in fuerteventura via these "supposed" travel agents. When we got there, it was absolutely no way a 4 star hotel....more like prison mixed with school dinners mixed with the former Jeremy Kyle show. We didn't get a single night's sleep due to mutants and scum making a noise, all day drunk, rowdy, smashing things and lumping on our wall. Complained to hotel but nothing got done. We got home and complained to travel Republic who said they can't do anything. The hotel was fully supported by travel Republic (however did we know the Spanish hotel manager would lie and say there were no issues). No surprise at all. We also booked a separate holiday via these supposed travel agents and booked an airport transfer which never turned up and we were advised at the airport that the transfer company had gone bust prior to our trip (thanks travel Republic for not informing us of this before flying out to Hungary). As it was dark upon arrival and a country we hadn't visited before, we had to arrange our own transport there and then at our cost to get to the hotel which was over an hour away. On the last day of our Hungary holiday we had some weirdo text us saying he would pick us up so obviously it in our view seems travel Republic shared our number with some randomer or ordered what must have been an uber type company and not advise us. Richard who helped us get the refund back for the Hungary trip was very helpful and apologised for the agro we experienced in Hungary. We had been booking with these for holidays since 2010 with no issues however in the past 10 months the quality has been absolutely abysmal and customer service is atrocious. We will now book elsewhere and if you wish for a smooth, trouble free holiday, we suggest you do the same.

Stay away as you don't get what you pay for! Incredibly dispapointed by the way my booking has been handled. I booked a hotel for three nights with half board included. Half board means breakfast and dinner. What I found out afterwards from the hotel itself when confirming my booking was that the booking only included lunch. This was not written anywhere. I would never have made the booking if it only included lunch as we will be out all day. Now Travel Republic say they cant do anything other than try to ask for it to be changed as they use another party for the hotel room which has nothing to do with the actual hotel. Basically when booking with Travel Republic now there are so many parties betwen yourself and the hotel it is impossible to sepak to someone who can actually fix it, not just say they will speak to another company. It is disgraceful and starting to look like outright fraud. Stay away if you want a smooth experience for your trip.

Booked a hotel through Travel Republic, got cancelled an hour before flight and asked them to rebook immediately as i needed to know before i land. Was told no managers available to approve. Relocated me to a different hotel on arrival. Went to make a complaint and referred me to their partner who was not willing to compensate. Was advised to take it further to ABTA who came back to say the travel provider used is not ABTA registered...why advertise using ABTA to give peace of mind to customers only to go and use a provider who is not ABTA registered??? So basically nothing can be done - shocking and disappointing!
