Much to the wife and i's dismay and having talked to the cashier at the next door filling station its closed for good. Covid has done for it due to the lack of tour coaches and tourists. We tour Scotland by motorcycle every year and look forward to a meal stop as the cafe was really good. Was there 3 Sept 20, closed, weeds everywhere. Not been open for months. Sad for the local community. Hope it can open again one day.

This was a coach stopover point on a recent holiday. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, especially in the food area. There were several Gluten Free options! The rest of the site is useful for shopping if you are looking for clothes or perhaps some touristy souvenirs. Do check the prices and quality carefully though, as a lot of stock was synthetic and made in China, not exactly what you might expect at a "Woollen Mill." There is a good selection of books, especially young children's books with a Scottish theme.

One of those outlets which has everything. Clothes, gifts and usual tourist ornaments. Food, drink and confections. Lovely café for cake & coffee. Didn't have time to sample a cooked meal.

I was offered a kilt from this place. The size was too small so my partner went back for a bigger one. Size 12. Which I couldn't even get around my waist like I did for the size 10!! Unbelievable and so disappointing. So we went back again and I tried sizes 12 in different colors. Only one was right !! So don t trust them at all and they re too busy to care anyway. So bad. No apologies offered. We got a refund though, thank goodness. I would think it s an offence to sell wrong sizes without telling or informing customers in any way. They should be fined. It s just a tourist trap. We live locally so were able to come back. I can imagine how others feel when they're away and try the skirt to realize it s not fitting at all!! A pure disgrace!!

This place has been here for years and I'm not sure how many generations of a Boston Terriers it might equate to. The whisky section in the larger store is interesting and fairly priced. This is definitely the highlight. The rest of the store is a mix of things you'd see elsewhere, tacky souvenirs and a rather confused home section. Sadly, despite the name, there is virtually no wool in the woolen mill; most knitwear is acrylic. Very little tweed now stocked as well, especially for women. It doesn't make the most of the town's heritage which would give it a point of difference.
