What a fantastic place, pouring with rain when we got there but staff offered umbrellas for us to use. The weather did not dull the experience and the sun soon came out.
Gatheted over many years the different buildings all told a story of local history which was interesting and informative.
My favourite was the telephone exchange which was kindly operated by one of the staff for us while he told us how it all worked.
Al in all an enjoyable few hours in lovely surroundings.
Excellent visitor attraction. Many old beautiful buildings including post windmill, stables, industrial buildings etc. Collection of telephone boxes & working exchange. Multi gauge miniature steam railway. Due to Covid some buildings were closed but doors & windows open to look through & railway not allowed to ride on. Despite these limitations it still took 4 hours to look round!! Needs a repeat visit when all the site is able to reopen. Still a very enjoyable experience.
Mainly accessible for wheelchair/mobility scooter users just 1 area that isn't suitable but alternative route available so nothing needs to be missed due to mobility issues.
Hand sanitiser stations around the site and felt as safe as is possible in current situation.
Have only been here once with family but what you pay for is definitely worth it. Plenty of things to look both old and new. Great day out for the kids. Great venue in general
Was lovely to visit. We booked a time but it was very quiet when we got there was was lovely. Nice if you are looking for something different to do and there a playgrounds as well (not sure if they are open at the moment with covid)
I had a fantastic time looking around Avoncroft Museum of Buildings. This unique collection of buildings really allows you to step back in time and into the shoes of a working person in a different era of time. Many of the buildings are salvaged from local sites. The engaging volunteers, such as the telephone operator are really friendly and help to bring the centre to life by drawing on their own personal experience.
