Clean, covid compliant and safe. I honestly thought that they had ceased trading, so pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this outlet. Good tea and coffee; good range of treats as well as full cooked meals.

Felt pretty safe. Pleasant place to have a cup of tea and relax. Could do with some gluten free choices - couldn't really eat anything and didn't fancy porridge.

Neither of us ever having had an afternoon tea, we decided to splash out £40 on the so-called Premium Afternoon Tea option. I know VP have had their difficulties, but I’ve always enjoyed the food & coffee at any of their sites I’ve visited in the past so the expectation was fairly high, especially for this price. What a disappointment; mostly soggy, quite frankly odd sandwiches (albeit the cheese & chutney, & the turkey in cranberry bread were tasty, soggy but still tasty), the scones were flat, fruitless & had, I suspect, too much bicarb in them as they tasted nothing like scones just very odd, which were served without butter, just jam & a single pot of cream (but pay for a cream tea & you get a fresh sealed pot to yourself). The cakes were so dry they stuck to your lips, or others were that heavy with creme pat that they fell apart as you tried to take them from the serving plate. No macarons as advertised on the menu, & the warning that substitutes can be made really should be heeded as basically they can serve you whatever they have left over & charge you through the nose for it. Disappointed really doesn’t cover it sufficiently, I hope the fact that I’m unlikely to ever step foot in a VP again probably does.

Came for Afternoon tea. Ordered Decaf coffee and when arrived we double checked. The lady tutted at us as it wasn't. We was not asked of any allergies before our Afternoon tea was bought out and there was no gluten free bread. Service poor and lack of communication between staff and customers. We used a buyagift voucher so nothing paid, which was nice. The food was, OK.

Don't know why they got it so wrong today. I've eaten here many times without complaint but today was a very poor show. Customers were complaining across the restaurant and myself found the service slow non attentive and the standard of food very poor. Poorly cooked scones terrible oily fries and rotten pieces of salad 🥗 Maybe just a bad day but such low standards worthy of a wake up bad review...
