I am simply in love with this traditional orchard tea garden. History, coffee or tea, scones, sitting under trees, relax, enjoy - perfect atmosphere!

We did a walk-in lunch here about noon one day. Had to stand in line for half an hour, which wasn't too bad. The food took a long time to come but once it did it was piping hot and absolutely delicious. However it was terrifying to eat among a gazillion bees and wasps (reason for a 4 star review). I'm not sure what can be done about it but I desperately wished I didn't have to keep swatting and trying to mind them... Especially with the jam on the table. Full marks for the lunch however, the best jacket potato I've ever had.

This is just such a beautiful quintessential English Tea house where after ordering your tea and scones with clotted cream (the favourite order for most) you get to enjoy it sitting on deck chairs amongst the apple trees. If you are lucky enough to make it here on a sunny day, there are not many experiences that are so paradoxically decadent yet simplistic in their enjoyment. After tea you can go for a stroll on the paths nearby along the river and you might just catch some college students punting along :)

Felt like opening day. The orchard itself is lovely and there is always a good spot to sit and enjoy the weather. Unfortunately, the food and service weren't so enjoyable. 50 odd minutes after ordering food turned up and several of the plates were missing items. For example, plate that should have three cheeses was missing two of them, or missing crisps and other side additions from another plate. What was there was actually good, but really attention to detail was not good. Really felt like getting the orders out was more important than customer satisfaction. Other than that it was fine and they handled the virus malarkey well.
