Quite a few buildings to visit with interactive things for kids. All well explained and very interesting, especially the Pye building. Worth an hour or 1/1/2 hours' visit
Cambridge Museum of Technology holds an extensive collection of steam, gas and electric pumps. Formerly the local sewage works, the Museum tells the Industrial history of the city. Plus a very interesting exhibition of the high technology company Pye. TV, radar and mobile phones from the 1940s. Great.
Interesting place for adults and for children also. Some fun activities for kids to do as well.
It was really interesting, and it's quite accessible. A nice time out.
A delightful little museum that has a surprisingly large amount to offer.
The main feature is the Victorian steam powered pumping station and there are some great examples of industrial scale steam works. It's a great experience for both engineering fanatics and families looking for something interesting.
There is also a nice exhibit based on PYE technologies in one of the buildings on the upper area of the site.
In many ways the museum is a work in progress, the staff and volunteers are friendly and enthusiastic, we had a great chat about future events and further developments such as new facilities and exhibitions.
I had a great time and I'm looking forward to going back in the future.
