December 2020, it is very muddy, so put your wellies on. There are lots of paths to take, and a great structure telling you which direction you are looking in and what is there as you look out over the Irish sea from the main clearing. This wood has matured from the tiny man made waste ground and is a lovely peaceful place to be. The dog's love it and dogs and humans alike make friends here. A bit like the walk at Abbots wood behind the abbey, this demonstrates how good Barrovians are at making the most of their surroundings when given a little resource. It might be muddy now, but it is still as lovely as in midsummer on late night walks.

Nice to explore. Amazing coastal views from the top end. Bit muddy at times and plenty of dog dirt around.

Ideal for exercising the dogs. Lovely contrast between the wooded area and the meadows. Relaxing environment. G
