Never have I been to such a place. Incredible, well designed, stunning interiors, wonderful breakfasts, very much appreciated ‘help yourself’ bar.
Immediately greeted with kindness, informed of local eateries and sights to see in the area. Despite this being a little in the middle of ‘nowhere’ it is the perfect place to go if you want to stay clear of the usual Lakes Towns, feeling safe in current times in a more secluded yet beautiful area we are now so thankful we have visited.
We stayed one night with our dog. It rained, it hailed. And it didn’t matter. Our room had everything we needed which was very high end. They’ve obviously spent a lot of money and given it a lot of love. No wonder they won 4 in a Bed 2 years ago.
As dog owners. We didn’t feel a burden, as so often ‘dog friendly’ hotels do. They even presented our egg loving dog a poached egg on a silver platter. So he’s thrilled.
All in all, the entire stay was seamless, the hotel beautiful, our own door into the beautiful gardens from our room, stunning breakfast and a real treat for what has been a hard few days for us, to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Do come, you won’t regret it.
1692 Wasdale is a complete WOW!!, from the moment you arrive, you are greeted with such a warm welcome, then the tour shows you the beautiful design and care and thoughtfulness of the buildings decor and restoration. Well done Faith & Steve, your class shines through your business, you superseded all our expectations.
We were thrilled to find such a lovely 'place to stay'.
We won't be staying anywhere else when we visit the Lakes.
Genuinely could not recommend 1692 Wasdale enough, 5 out of 5 does not cover it.

What a lovely place!!
On holiday in Cumbria for a few days staying at 1692 Wasdale was the highlight of our stay. Location is wonderful just between the sea and the mountain; views were also incredible. Furnishings and design throughout the property are superb quality and very tastefully done. Our room was gorgeous, quiet and very comfortable - had a TV with streaming facilities and a great coffee selection to use either with the coffee pod machine or the cute kettle. The shower is big, sleek and modern with a dual shower head giving perfect water pressure. The entire bathroom had a clean, flawless appearance.
Loved the whole experience, the staff were completely dedicated and very friendly!! Magnificent views, fresh air and excellent breakfast with varied choice and food offering local produce and freshly home made cakes and delights !
Would highly recommend this beautiful traditional setting providing warm hospitality!
What a wonderful place to stay & highly recommended. The location is quiet and excellent for walking. Owners are very friendly and go that extra mile, nothing is too much, plenty of food choice which is of high quality & absolutely delicious. The place is wonderful, well thought out with everything you need to relax Bed was a touch on the hard side for us but that's a personal preference and it didn't spoil our visit
Very warm welcome from owners and staff. They cannot do enough for their guests. Very attentive. Accommodation is to a very high standard and the meals are excellent both breakfast and dinner. I would not hesitate in recommending the facilities and experience we had. Pet friendly also, which was a real bonus for us with a big dog in a high end establishment.
