The history of Newnham begins with the formation of the Association for Promoting the Higher Education of Women in Cambridge in 1869. The progress of women at Cambridge University owes much to the pioneering work undertaken by the philosopher Henry Sidgwick, fellow of Trinity.

Average hall food. Accommodation looks neat and sleek. Bike stands are harder to locate.

Newnham College has a big and spacious garden with beautiful flora and fauna. Surrounding the garden are buildings which look unique in their own ways yet blends in nicely with each other. Great place for a scenic stroll.
