I attended witherslack Hall school and from the minute I walked through the doors inwas treat as an outsider. The staff were biased and cruel. The other pupils were allowed to bully victimise and single out eachother. The staff were overly strict and abusive. The website states its a fair and equalitised environment but I found it to be the opposite. The worst 4 years of my life and I'm still traumatised by my stay there. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SENDING YOUR CHILDREN OR CHILD HERE

I was put there when I was 11 until 13 it was like an open borstal Teachers ect used to bully and a some physically abused the kids and was a very strict place to be and the kids used to bully one another and rape each other was a horrible place and the teachers turn a blind eye to all the things that happened between the kids. When you woke up if you did not get straight out of bed the teacher had ran a cold bath and you were thrown into it then you had a morning job i.e had to use a dust pan and brush to clean the carpet in a dorm if you did not do it right or took too long you were not aloud breakfast at tea time you had to polish shoes boots trainers ect if they were not cleaned good enough you were not aloud to eat.You had school clothes play clothes and bed clothes and I remember once my mother came up so I said to a teacher if it was ok to stay in my school clothes and not change into my play clothes as my mother was coming up and would be changing into my own clothes and he said ok about 30 mins later I was downstairs and he said you have not got your play clothes on and I said but my mother is coming up so he dragged me by my hair up the stairs and hit me a few times and said get your play clothes on then when my mother arrived he was nice as pie with her and said to me that I could get changed into my own clothes, things like this happened all the time and they even made the other kids pick and bully the kids that the teachers did not like this was called peer group pressure.I used to run away from the place all the time and I was not bullied half as much as some there and one night I even went across quick sand and ended up swimming over to the other side of the bay to get to the motorway one time and out of all the times I ran away I only managed to get home once.If you have watched the movie or TV movie of Scum that is what it was like but without cells or bars at the windows and the children were a bit younger than those in the movie. This was the early 80's and thing may have changed now and it looks like a holiday camp from the video shown......
