It's a triangle recreation ground on a gradient. Brilliant for sledging using the goals to aim for. Children's play area is poor, dates and really needs upgrading. Bit of a village green!

Good little playground, unfortunately not modern surface, so collects muddy puddles in area. Nice to walk through on way into town 😷

Best thing about this place is all three corners. Not quite an equilateral triangle... More scalene in my opinion but that is what makes it so incredible! A solid 85 degree angle at one end and a very naughty 126 degrees on the adjacent side. I don't even want to go there when it comes to the hypotenuse... Breathtaking!
