An excellent walking area, but take care on the Ferry Bridge when it is icy. The Bridge should be salted to prevent ice formation. A young boy slipped on the ice this morning and hurt himself badly whilst on his way to school; he returned home.

Walked around the corner gardens when I was a young child and it is still lovely place for a walk

Stapenhill gardens is a beautiful walk around the centre of Burton on Trent. A footpath runs alongside the River Trent which has a large number of swans and ducks. The garden areas are extremely colourful with bedding plants. A very short walk takes you to the washlands where there are lots of trails. Plenty of places to sit down and admire the views.
