Good big free car park but the walk that you follow around the reservoir is currently a dead end as metal fencing has been put up. Good views though
Nice sized carpark, lovely views over the reservoir. Easy walk around part of the reservoir but the path has been blocked off just past the Weir. It would be nice if you could go a bit further. There are plenty of wooden walkways and bridges that children find fun. We managed with a pushchair, just be careful of stinging nettles. Still a nice short walk for a summers evening.
Lovely lake and walk.. such a pity most of it is currently closed as the access route to ticknall is closed because it boundaries the Calke estate which is covid closed.. would have been so easy to introduce safe measures like all the other local reservoirs and lakes have.
It says here that the car park is open but it is CLOSED. Had to park on the muddy verges along with approx 20 other cars. Now a safety hazard with people walking along the road and cars trying to squeeze by. Severn Trent can you please get the car park opened again otherwise share the blame when inevitably an accident occurs.
Note that the path around the reservoir has been closed about 5 minutes walk from the car park making it a dead end. Doesn't look as though it'll be opening anytime soon either
