Springwood fisheries is a great place to relax and chill and enjoy your fishing. A bacon cob to start the day off. Clean toilets friendly staff let you get on with it. Quite, trees all around and very peaceful for someone to relax and enjoy your fishing. Carp are a couple of pound and in very good condition and give you a very good fight on the pole. I like the bigger carp but really enjoyed the change to the pole and the good flight of these fish. A little hidden gem for me and we will be back next season. Go for a chill out session and relax and have some fun. We'll done Springwood you have made a beautiful place

First time camping for my family wouldn't recommend this place. When i booked it i told them we wanted to try the fishing and we had lovely view over the lake for our tent when we got there the place was alot smaller than expected got to our pitch and had a tree in front of view so couldn't see the lake 😡! We then tried the fishing 5 mins in to be told we wasn't to fish because we hadn't payed the fishing fee 😤😡! Not once was we told we had to pay for fishing not on booking, not on arrival, without fishing theres nothing to do on campsite! On website it states there's a cafe and refuge! We arrived early afternoon to find cafe closed was open next morning as there was fishing tournament on 🤬 why not open for the campers??? On leaving we was told we had to take our rubbish away with us including dog mess 🤮 I would not recommend this place unless u going for fishing and fishing only!

Just spent a lovely, relaxing weekend here with my husband. We wanted somewhere peaceful we could just chill. We were on hardstanding pitch 3, which was about 10 feet from the big, watery, green, husband creche, which cost £6 for 9 hours, and kept him happy whilst I managed a relatively uninterrupted 400 pages of quality reading. The ducks made excellent hubby-minders, and he even caught some good fish! The warden, Spirit, is super friendly, he introduced himself by sticking his head in hubby's lap whilst he was fishing, and checked on us several times a day, constantly wagging his tail. The humans were ok too. The amenities are individual cabins with a toilet, sink and cubicle with proper shower, which doesn't need to be restarted every 30 seconds! The site was very clean and well maintained. The cons (if I can call them that) are that this site is directly under the east Midlands flight path, so you will hear and see planes. Our pitch backed onto a main road, so there was road noise. Neither of these things disturbed our sleep. There are no lights on site, so if moving around after dark you will need a torch. The cafe/shop opening is sporadic, however I'm sure if we had needed anything the human warden would have helped. I saw a previous review complaining that nobody told them they had to pay to fish. All sites with lakes charge extra for fishing, this is detailed on their website. If you didn't read the rules, that's on you, not the site. On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Nice little campsite. Peaceful (apart from the occasional plane but that was a bonus for my plane spotting step dad). Friendly staff and clean facilities. Plenty of space left between groups.

Absolutely wonderful little site. The fishing lakes are picturesque and theres lots of nice walks near by. One thing to note is due to location near East Midlands Airport you will get a few planes flying overhead at night but very easily ignored! 10/10 would recommend!
