The Old Forge Children's Day Nursery

The staff are lovely and so are all the activities. My child was at another nursery for a year before we moved house. He did more at this nursery in his first week then he did the whole year at his old one. I love the stimulating environment and range of activities. Would definitely recommend!

Both our two children attended this nursery. We couldn't have wished for a better start to their education. There were always varied, stimulating activities for them to enjoy and learn from. The staff there knew our children well and we were well-informed of how they were doing. The indoor and outdoor facilities were excellent. Certainly recommended.

I thought this Nursery was fantastic until today. All be it they have a job todo there are procedures and a correct way to do things and today they have breached trust and protocol. They have caused distress and considerable upset. Disgusting.

Our Pre-School offers an excellent education to prepare your child ready for the transition to school. We offer funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We have a team of hugely enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Nurses who ensure all children receive the best care and attention. The Old Forge Day Nursery is an attractive nineteenth century building which has been specially modernised to provide a safe, secure and friendly environment catering for up to 65 children between the ages of 12 weeks upto 12 years old. The nursery is set in beautiful grounds and surrounded by trees with a secure playground and separate paddock for outside play and picnics, it provides a truly idyllic setting for your child to enjoy. We are a lively and busy Nursery. Our activities include Sports Day, Christmas play, day trips out, Yoga, Music lessons and much more. We have regular theme days, which offer an opportunity for everyone (including staff) to come to Nursery to come in fancy dress. Children in our Nursery are invited to participate in all activities but are encouraged to make their own decisions. Each child is assessed on entry to the Nursery and individual attention is given to build on their strengths. Education is a continuing process, beginning with the development of language skills leading to the ability to read and write. Children are at an age when they need to be encouraged to develop their potential as individuals and social awareness.
