Do not use this company under any circumstances
Absolutely the worst rental company going.. booked a van 2 weeks prior to collection. Arrived to collect the van to be told it wasn’t available. Customer service was a joke! Wasn’t particularly bothered about letting us down and was told that the van we booked wasn’t returned 5 days prior. This would mean that they knew full on well that they couldn’t provide me van but failed to contact me. Complete waste of my time and huge expense trying to source another van. Still not had a refund and was told i wouldn’t be charged a cancellation fee? What a joke! Avis are also budget van hire and the reviews speak for them selfs! Avoid at all costs!!!
The only positive is the Lady Zoe who dealt professionally at beginning.
Returned a car in time, airport full of cameras so it's easy to check, also a parking ticket brought in with time of entry... They added 49 minutes of lateness... When I rang to their office they said they can't do anything and I need to speak to the customer service. The first one just hang up on half way through and the second one does not even think maybe need to apologize or something... Very rude people without basic manners.
One of the best airport in UK and this kind of organisation puts negative mark on it. Please be very careful with them and check your bank statement as they don't know what they are doing!
Far too many Avis offices are inconveniently located for customers...a taxi ride away from the station, or at an airport when the train station is busier. That being said, they are, IMO, the best of the large car hire firms - especially if you enrol in their loyalty program.
It was not explained to me that the £200 deposit would be held for up to 14 days post return of car Why? Disgraceful. plus no receipt issued trying to get hold of customer services impossible. will never use again
