Very convenient for exploring the quay area.

DO NOT PARK HERE...unless you want to be harassed with a £160 fine!!! Two innocent family members who parked separately here at the same time and have both been fined. Read the reviews on Trustpilot. This carpark is owned by the Council, managed by 'Smart Parking' And debt managed by 'Debt Recovery Plus' who are on comission to get as much money as possible by fining people left right and center. Now have to help my 90 year old grandad to not be conned by these villains.

Used twice, $3.50 for the day. No problems, perfect.

On NO account use the Haven Banks Retail carpark. Ive been using this car park for years when the council car parks are full nearby. When Matalan was located there it was £1 to park and it was refunded by the store on presentation of the ticket. The car park is operated by Smartparking Ltd. This company are complete fraudsters and con men fining people for minor infractions. I’ve parked there 3 times before lockdown the last time was March 22nd. 2 hours parking costs £1. On Friday 5th June I entered the carpark at 1438 paid my £1, entered my vehicle registration number and took my ticket. I had a walk around the Quayside and had a coffee and cake takeaway on the way back to my car. I left the car park at 1610 backed up by my cars GPS recorded on my phone. I received a Parking Charge Notice PCN telling me I had 14 days to pay a £54 fine. Failure to do so would mean a £90 + £10 admin charge. If not paid court action would follow resulting in a Bailiffs letter for £170 fine. It stated I had underpaid or overstayed my period of stay. Photos taken showed me entering the carpark at 1442 ( incorrect as my GPS showed my engine was switched off at 1439!) and me leaving the carpark at 1632!!! I clearly didn’t exceed my 2 hours and to be issued a ticket and pay the minimum £1 fee their records must show my entered registration number. No ticket is issued without Reg number and £1 paid!!!! There is an appeal process via the Smartparking website. I’ve tried to appeal this and each time you I was told “we cannot process your appeal, try again in 24 hours!!! This apparently continues for 14 days forcing people to pay the £54 fine before the £100 is forced upon you!!! DO NOT PAY THE £54 FINE. Read reviews on Trustpilot and on the local reviews site. Smartparking Ltd have been deliberately fining people by using bully boy tactics even though people have not committed any infringement!!! The British Parking Association have a code of practice which Smartparking have to adhere to. They’ve been breaking these regulations for years. Fight your case. Ticket machines are often faulty and incorrectly calibrated and their camera detection systems have been known to have flaws. Con merchants, fraudsters and scumbags are polite words which sum up this corrupt business. I’ve contacted local councillors and Trading Standards to make a formal complaint. Fight your corner. This company is continually under investigation and should be wound up. You will find them registered at Company’s House. Traders in the Quayside advise their customers/clients not to park there. People are aware of Smartparkings con tricks. Pass on this info and tell friends and relatives to avoid this carpark. Unfortunately visitors to the Quay get caught time and time again. Be warned people. I for one will fight this all the way. I PAID THE CORRECT FEE FOR TWO HOURS AND LEFT WELL BEFORE MY TIME EXPIRED therefore I shouldn’t have received any fine. PERIOD!!!!
