Staff were really welcoming and accommodating. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. The slow-roasted pork belly was particularly good - fantastic flavour to the pork and the signature straight stick of crackling was some of the best we've had. Love the fact that the menu changes daily based on the ingredients available and the chefs on shift. We will definitely be returning here again soon to try more dishes.
Fantastic find! Traveling from Northants to Devon, we picked a restaurant on the way from Google maps suggested restaurants on our route. If it's scenery you are looking for look no further, quality food a flavour, well the best ever steak and chips and beautiful roast cod, all blazing with flavour! Job done. For quality of service they were just a great team all-round. Thank you White Hart at Fyfield!
Having booked our one year anniversary dinner we were concerned with it being enjoyable and safe in the current climate.
They had everything planned very well and would recommend eating out in the garden to anyone else who would also like a pleasant evening in a spacious garden with cover from the rain, with great food in a nice traditional setting.
We didn’t want to eat inside as we preferred to be outside with a coat on but the inside looked great!
Food was great! We ordered 2 steaks rare (cooked and rested perfectly) and the cheese board. Pizzas looked great too!
Highly recommend this place.
Amazing dining experience! The cozy atmosphere brings to mind a medieval dining hall, and the food is worthy of what royalty probably ate back then. Go for the 3-course meal, as you'll regret not trying more of the chef's excellent dishes otherwise. You can find both traditional dishes cooked with the utmost care and modern fusions of ingredients that sing together in an unexpected way - sweet and savoury, fatty and crunchy, hot and cold, various textures meshing together on the same plate. Our compliments to the chef and we can't wait to come back! (Here's a picture of the excellent spiced pear dessert.)
The food is always first class. Texture and taste combinations in each dish are always well put together. Very friendly service in an airy, historic building. Slightly more expensive than the normal for the area but worth it.
