Please be very careful if you do park here!!
Like the reviewer below I have just paid a £60 penalty fee to the operator, ParkingEye Limited, for accidentally paying for 10 minutes less than the time I spent in the car park. When I returned to my car after 3 hours away I found that the pay machine would only take cash, of which I had none. I used the website detailed on the signage but could only find a way to pay in advance for parking. (This was possibly an error on my part). I paid in advance for what I thought was the same amount of time as I had staid. I subsequently got a penalty notice to which I replied with the receipt for the parking for which I had paid. I fully believed the claims of their website that they exist to protect car park owners from abuse of the parking - an aim with which I have no problem - and that my explanation would be accepted as the honest mistake it clearly was. Instead they turned down my appeal because of the 10 minutes discrepancy. It is particularly frustrating as I spent more than 10 minutes trying to do the right thing and try to ensure I had paid.
A quick online search will reveal a litany of similar cases.
Best approached from the West (town) only as you can’t turn into the carpark from the east.
£2 for all day payable in cash only, or you have to call or download the pay for parking app both of which take ages.
The carpark itself is fine, standard old multi-storey design with adequate sized spaces and room to manoeuvre your car. Plenty of pay booths too and the exits are clearly signed.
Traffic is ridiculous weekday mornings before 09:30 so if planning to go to the adjacent court leave extra time.
Scammers.
An outrageously high penalty charge which was only sent out the day that the charge went up from £60 to £100 yet the notice dated some weeks before. On the day the app had crashed and not processed my payment.
