Brought my VW to these guys with a parking sensor problem. Had already taken it to VW dealer who told me they were unable to diagnose a specific fault, after running their £65 diagnostic analysis, so they'd have to take the front & rear bumpers off & test each sensor plus wiring individually with no idea how much it would cost but no doubt £££££s. Spoke to Martin on phone then also Steve on drop off at Chesterfield Auto Electrical. They called me 3 hrs later with it all sorted. Turns out with some detective work it was a problem with the control box for the sensor system. A quick fuse replacement giving a higher voltage sorted it. Steve did try explaining it all to me via an electrical map on the laptop but it went way over my head real quick! No doubt VW would have eventually diagnosed the fault & recommended a new control box requiring factory coding etc costing loads. Straight up guys who know what they are doing & don't charge an arm & leg to sort your problems. I'd recommend them to anyone with electrical issues.

I was recommended to use this garage by another mechanic, booked my car in as had an issue with the back wiper randomly moving and 4 lights showing on dashboard. On the first visit, they fixed the back wiper and advised me the problem surrounding the dashboard lights was the airbag module had broken so need a new one. They didn't have the part in so would need to be ordered in, this would come at a nice price of £350 + VAT + fitting. However due to them being recommended and sounding very confident this problem can be fixed, I agreed to continue and pay this as I was hoping to keep the car for further couple of years. So first visit cost £144, this covered fixing the back wiper and finding out the problem with dashboard lights. Second visit - airbag module has arrived and ready to go, I receive a call half way through the day advising the part was in however the car won't recognise it without a code, the part hasn't come with a code and the manufacturer (Fiat) will not give the code either. So my only option would be to take the car to a FIAT garage and have the final part done with them. Of course massively disappointed but still getting reassurance this problem can be solved and once the code is activated, all will be fine. So the second visit cost £512, so in total we’re at £656 and still have a broken car!! Booked in for the following week at Fiat, before they even touch the car because of the Diagnostic machine it will be £89.99!! I receive a call from Fiat half way through the day advising because of modifications done to the car (done by previous owners and something I wasn't aware of), this airbag module problem CANNOT BE FIXED! Unless all modifications returned to original Fiat settings as the parts are causing error messages on computer so unable to code in new part! Only positive thing is they charged me no more than first price quoted so £89.99. As you can imagine, I've now lost complete hope and don't know what to do! I've spent £745.99 and still have a broken car. I rang Chesterfield Auto Electrical to advise them off this and was offered no help or refund. Not even an apology for taking all this money from me to fix my car and I'm still in the same situation! This car has no airbag and I'm now in the process of buying a new car because I have no other options! I will never, ever recommend this garage to anybody, they've taken just under £656 of my money for nothing in the end and not even an apology or refund given!!

Took my Jaguar XF here for a fault with the central locking and windows. Diagnosed the fault straight away and even ordered me a cheap second hand part to keep the costs down. Would highly recommend this garage for any electrical fault on your car. Will definitely return for any future work I may need. 5 stars
