I queued outside Satterthwaites on the the day they re-opened. Along with a lot of other people! It was a great day!
Years later and not living near Crosby anymore, I sent an email to Satterthwaites to ask if there was the option of shipping pies to the far corners of the UK.
To my joy, 10 pork pies arrived today. Quality control was undertaken with a cup of tea. There is still good in this world.
Superb pies, superb bakery, superb people.
Totally recommend as these are still the best pork pies I have ever had.
Absolutely fabulous bakery - one of a kind. Everything made by hand on site. Really delicious pies and cakes. Such a treat to find somewhere that has polite and helpful staff and great bakes. A real gem.

We have been buying food from Satterthwaites for more years than I care to remember. Cakes pies are amazing. My favourite are the pork pies, nobody can beat them for taste and flavour
Love the pork pies when you can get one and they've not sold out! But everything else seems hit and miss. For example have had balm cakes in the past that were lovely but bought a loaf yesterday that i realised when I got home was stale and like a rock - inedible. Staff often seem moody and uninterested and since theres no price list displayed anymore, feel like they just make it up and are ridiculously high. Shame really as do like to support local independents but my visits here are getting less frequent and more disappointing.
