Like all NCP “car parks” where they have a Captive market, this is ridiculously expensive, very limited room to manoeuvre due to parking slots packed too tightly together. Never any opportunity to use the single waiting space.
Well this car park is £3 a day if you pay at the machine provided. That machine has not been in operation for months. You can pay for parking online with an additional charge of 40p for a booking fee 😂. But the site fails to process the transaction. At this point i gave up trying to park here. My work collegue had the same problem but left the car there and got a £70 fine. Theres a number to call to pay for parking maybe that works better. Anyway its another example of profiteering, rather than pay somone to repair and maintain the ticket machine making parking convieniently easy, put it all online or by phone and balls it up.
I would suggest avoiding this car park if you drive a larger car or a van as there are some very tight turns, (often conflicting with the taxis), to get into it and there is limited maneuvering space within the car park. Also note that parking is on a by the day (24 hours) basis with parking paid for either in the ticket office or via a Mobile App (so not the place to park if you are just doing an hour or twos shopping). Access from the town center is via one of two steep hills so anybody with mobility issues may have a problem if going into the town.
