Went there on a sunday and it was closed so didn't get a chance to go in...next time I'm up I will definitely go and have a look!!

Museum was shut but castle grounds was open. Good for kids to run around and information boards for adults very informative.

Just managed to get last appointment of day well worth a visit - Basil Jones shop is amazing but I liked the pre history items best had no idea the Romans came this far all this and it's free brilliant

This is a compact building within the grounds of Abergavenny castle, with many exhibits of local history. Divided into rooms, accessed by steps, each set taking you progressively further down into the basement, there is a lot of information and exhibits to reflect on in this museum. There is a shop area to browse, before you leave to take in the fine view from this elevation above the town. Well worth a visit!
