So at 10pm last night when we came to bed we noticed our beloved cat Pickle didn’t seem herself at all. She hadn’t eaten much all day (definitely not usual for her) and I noticed her breathing was very fast. She’s a jumpy cat so was very odd for her to be so lethargic we knew something was up when she didn’t flinch when we lifted her into the cat box! We rang vets now Thamesmead who said bring her straight down because of her breathing. We got there and she was taken in straight away to be seen by a vet. We had to wait a couple of hours because a very poorly dog came in not long after.
The saddest thing was that we could go in with her because of COVID which cannot be helped at all. We waited in the car and the vet rang us to explain that she was stable and thinks she had eaten something that didn’t agree with her. She was given pain killers and anti-emetics. £273 she was brought back to us!
Obviously it’s very expensive for your animal to need treatment out of hours (get pet insurance!!!) but knowing that a vet is always available when you need them is very reassuring. Thank you vets now for looking after our very loved cat!!
I can't praise Vets Now highly enough. Our cat was ill and was slowly getting worse. I asked my vet if, when the time came for her to go, I could be with her but she said no due to Covid. For that reason I knew her passing would be even more painful. I was so worried she would be scared without me. She suddenly became much worse one Saturday but my vet was closed. We took her as an emergency to Vets Now. I wasn't allowed in so they carried her in in her snug bed to attach the cannula then brought her back to me in my car. They left her with me telling me to take as much time as I needed. When the time came she went to sleep with me stroking her and talking to her. I can't say how much that meant to me and will always mean to me.
High quality level of care provided by the veterinarians. They do not issue you emergency appointments unless it is absolutely necessary that your pet is seen immediately. This is to avoid the high cost of emergency out of hours treatment. The vets will treat homeless or wild animals for free so they are clearly not just in it for the money. Used to work here as a receptionist.
£179.50 for a five minute consultation. And then a suggestion of a further £500 plus for blood tests. I understand that this is an out of hours service and I expect to pay a premium. I have seen the breakdown of costs that this fee covers. People who can pay will pay because they have no choice and are at their most vulnerable. Oh, and if you want to claim on insurance, there’s a further admin fee for “dealing” with the claim. Disgusting.
Phoned for a Emergency appointment to see my dog Was told straight away it’s £180 just to see the vet even if they find nothing is wrong... which is absolutely disgusting! These people care about there Wallets not the care of animals I will not be contacting these people again!!! Go else where If you can hold out for your own vet to be open then do so
