In the last 3 weeks I have called the complaint line at least 3 times a week, with absolutely to improvement in power. VRA/NEDCO apparently has no interest in maintaining their equipment in my part of Tamale. For the last 4 weeks my power has been either off 60% of the time or below usable voltage levels. On most nights one phase provides 185 volts or more, another phase with NO--ZERO voltage (its been off for a month now) and the last phase varies from 3- to 80 volts. I repaired the fuse holders on the stepdown transformer supplying my house for a full year, until the transformer was replaced, which made the power consistent for about six months. Sadly what I found are blown fuses, and fuses with no connecting holders, cutting off the power to all users downline. I live near UDS in Dungu. The faulty stepdown transformer has this label; CHANSHEGU 438BF6015, please see attached pictures. This transformer is within 1.5km of my home and can be found easily by following the power lines to it. Forget calling the repair line, they get no results, at least not for me, in 2 years. While Ghana is short on water, it is long on sunshine, however the government made it impossible for any solar company planning to add even a smaller grid to enter the country.

It is the Head Office of the Public Corporate Body in charge of the Distribution of the electricity in the Northern Belt of Ghana. It is well organized with professional and very welcoming staff always ready to held solve commercial or technical issues on Electricity in this part of the Country. It is also well located in the city centre, administrative, business and financial area.
