New York Sports Clubs

This New York Club is very good. Staff are friendly and do not harass you unlike other gyms today. Has all the equipment I need including TRX bands. Only disappointment is the no showers or steam room policy , or mats to work on abs. Nick is a great Manager. I recommend talking to him for any membership deals. He will work with you.

Have always really liked this gym but am lately very put off by members wearing masks under their noses and no one saying anything to them. Even MORE off-putting was when I went to get on the elevator and one of the MANAGERS was in it without his mask on. I have to take the elevator because of an issue with stairs. Have also seen this same manager walking around the gym floor wearing his mask underneath his nose. What's that all about?

Poor experience at this location last night. Went in close to closing the female stopped me and said no one is allowed after 7:40, I was taken back because Ive never heard anything like that at any gym. Usually a rep well say “ hey just to let you know we”re getting ready to close in 20 minutes” Anyhow seconds later as she was telling me yeah sorry...What I assumed her “friend” walked in, she let him go through very easily , then told me well okay you can go too. VERY AWKARD ! Its actually more to it than I will write , but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Let me add my displeasure of this place. Tried to cancel my membership in November of last year... but TSI kept charging me dues. I was able to eventually cancel after four attempts. They are unethical. So no surprise about the lawsuits and bankruptcy.

This gym, on Broadway and 94th street, is one of the better run New York Sports Clubs in Manhattan. Equipment is well maintained, plenty of space, disinfecting efforts are robust, and staff is friendly. What separates this club from other gyms are the trainers, they are engaging, hard-working, and a key part of the welcoming vibe in this Upper West Side club. Among a very good cadre of trainers, one stands out as particularly strong: Mike Howard. I've been training with Mike since August 2020. He’s a genuinely nice person, a motivated and motivating trainer – a person you want to be around, and, most importantly, an excellent guide to fitness. He is all about being positive, always trying to bring out the best in me, my son (who he also trains), and every one of his clients. Mike is a social person who can be friends with anyone; he’s a person clearly devoted to his objective: helping others get fit. His signature MHMethod is proven to help clients reach their goals at the gym and, more importantly, Mike motivates me and my teenage son to be in the gym even when we are not training with him. He’s able to push us beyond our personal expectations as he regularly introduces new and creative activities making time in the gym fresh and rewarding. Thanks to Mike, my son and I are getting to NYSC more often, seeing better results, and experiencing more enjoyment than we ever had before training with him.
