We camp almost every weekend from May to October, traveling to campgrounds across the Midwest region. I can say, without hesitation, that the Sunbury KOA is our favorite. It is impeccably maintained and themed, and feels more “resort” than campground. They’ll even deliver made-to-order food to your campsite! My kids love this campground— The playground is one of the best and most unique I’ve ever seen, and my kids love spending time there. Unlike other KOAs, kayaks and canoe rentals are free. There’s even a petting zoo to keep the kids entertained. We appreciate the different “neighborhoods” of the campground. We prefer camping in the woods, so the backwoods section is our favorite. Tall trees, plenty of privacy, and lots of places to hang a hammock. It looks and feels like northern Michigan in this section. Every single staff member is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear that the owners and management take great pride In their campground and aim to deliver a great experience for guests.

This campground was great. We stayed here in our 33 ft travel trailer and had no problems maneuvering through the campground. Check in was fast and the staff was very friendly. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and into the next week. Although it was packed on the holiday weekend, we never had any problems with noise or rowdy people. There are lots of activities for the kids to do, including a petting zoo, pool, splash pad, frisbee golf, and a inflatable jump pad. Bath houses are kept clean and are well maintained. This campground is situated great to do things in Columbus or Cleveland (you must check out the Columbus Zoo). The campground has a café that you text your order and they bring it to your site and the food was excellent and came quickly. There happened to be a tornado while we were there and we received a text about it from the staff along with instructions on where to go. Above and beyond service! We will be coming back as this has been one of our favorite places to camp, and we have been all over the U.S.

We absolutely love this campground! We highly recommend it to everyone that we can. The sites are a perfect size, Chip, Bambi, Hayley and the rest of the staff are all fabulous people and will do anything to help make your stay fun and comfortable. There are activities available for both kids and adults, the perfect balance. If you want a fun and great stay, come on over to the KOA Sunbury!

What a great KOA! My site was in the "Boondocks" area, which is away from the pool, playground, jump pad, etc. so very quiet. I was steps from the bath house (very clean and each had shower, toilet and sink), with just a few more steps to the woods with lots of trails. My dogs LOVED all the long walks, not only in the woods but also around the campground. Friendly staff and good food!!!

We are staying here right now for about a month. Friendly and helpful staff, great location with walking trails. Nice little store and even a petting zoo. The only negatives are that the weekends are very busy and the laundry room had some machines that were out of service. But I would recommend a stay here. Really enjoying our visit.
