Madison Campground

Well run campground with easy access to most of the park’s main attractions

Campsites are spacwd apart, staff is very friendly, and as someone who lives nearby, this is the best campground in terms of nearby attractions and second in beauty only to Canyon.

Nice. Clean. Good location. We were there at beginning of Oct 2020, so not too busy since summer season has just ended. Our site was not far from the main road to West Yellowstone, so we had some occasional road noise. Not bad though.

We stayed a few places in the park and this camp was by far the best. Staff was extra sweet and helpful, everything was clean and convenient. Check in and out was faster and smoother than any other campground in Yellowstone. Mercantile stays open pretty late. Plenty of bear boxes (thanks Yellowstone foundation !donate!) thank y’all for a great first and last day. We started and ended our Yellowstone adventure on a high note because the campground was so awesome. Oh and to the cute older couple from Texas working the front desk-y’all are a blessing.

It would be better if they use the space reasonably - there was plenty of free spots and they claimed "no vacancy" though.
