Keflavík International Airport

Keflavík airport has everything you need. I honestly think it is one of the best airports I have visited (and yes I did visit a lot of them, more than 300 for sure). Why is Keflavík International airport so great? First of all, it is very well organized and you can find and reach everything easily. Second: Smart and professional people work there, so you can actually talk to them and solve your problems (not like in other airports sometimes). Third: even though it is not a big airport it has everything you need: banks *for money exchange, cash machines *to withdraw local currency, good parking, hotel near by, car rental companies. very good shops and restaurants with local food and good coffee. Fourth: the prices at the airport are very fair. Compared to how much things cost on Iceland, the prices are really very good. I always enjoy to fly to Keflavíkurflugvöllur (Icelandic name of the airport). It is safe, cool and has one of the biggest runways in Europe :-) Welcome to Iceland!

This is my most favorite airport in the world. Every time we land here I feel giddy and energized and conversely I feel sad when we depart. The airport is easy to navigate and the duty free shop is stocked full of great gifts!

A modern and simple airport with friendly staff considering I was the only person in the entire airport that day chosen for a "Random search". Friendly touch and they warmed the gloves before conducting the cavity search.

Worst Tax free desk I have experienced in the world. Operated by an old grumpy lady with a total "computer says no" attitude. Think twice before doing any tax free shopping in Iceland.
