Gula Gastrobar & Winery

This restaurant is part of Henry Morgan Resort. If you are staying there you get a 30% discount which is pretty convenient. The food is not overpriced but is more on the expensive side. However, it's really worth it. We tried the surf and turf and steak and it was delicious. Great service too and a decent wine selection.

If you want to try real Italian food Gula is the place. Don't order "a la carte" but choose the "Italian Experience". It's a 9 course meal, and you better go hungry because it's endless. Great Italian wines selection as well. Can't beat the waterfront location.

Three major flaws with this place during our dinner at Gula, First, The lobster is $28, and they only give you one tail. Most other places on the island give you two for $24. On top of that, the waitress said that they only had small lobster tails that night. So do they give you two? NO. Do they drop the price? NO. I decided to get the lasagna. The lasagna comes in a small plate about the diameter of a cell phone and is about one inch tall. Don't come here hungry. Second fault, we arrived here at 8pm and soon after we arrive they started taking down all of the decorations (wine bottles, plants, everything) so they are packing up the restaurant as we sit there (along with several other tables of 2-4 people). That doesn't make for a nice atmosphere during dinner. The third fault was their biggest. The waitress asked if she should add a tip. I told her to add 15%. She brings the receipt back after running the card and she has added a 50% tip! $46 on top of the $91 tap! She dropped the booklet with the credit card and receipt on the table and left quickly without a word. Not even a "thank you." That is how I know that she did it on purpose and it wasn't an honest mistake. I looked around for her because I was a little angry about this but I couldn't find her and my kids were very tired so I just chalked it up to a learning experience and we left.

Unbelievable ambience and food!!! Wow!!! Go there! Our server Elio was great!!
