Difficult hike to the top. Trail is well worn and marked quite well (keep your eyes on the flagging tape on trees). I did the hike to the top in 5 hours and 4 hours return and my body was hurting...it was punishing. I would start early as possible so you can retum before the park closes. Views at the top are not great as it is covered in trees. This is a hike for you to say only that you did it and bagged a peak. Lots of nice nature and some flowers but very little wildlife. I heard almost no birds and saw only 1 pig and butterflies. Perhaps wet season has birds.

Amazing hike, very steep terrain about half way. It’s been a while so details are foggy .... but somewhere around mile 4 or 5 was when we got to section that you are just scrambling up roots and rocks what feels like straight up for about an entire mile. My friend and I were able to summit in 1 day.
