Spectacular the top of Nicaragua. It promises unmatched views, unmatched weather. Coldest point in the country with minimum temperatures of up to 6ºC. Nice experience to have reached the top with my brothers and nephews.

It is quite an adventure to be able to reach the top of the Mogoton, since you leave Managua it is more than 250km, you reach the foothills of the hill at about 1300msnm and then to walk about 4-5km until reaching 2000msnm with an average demand, a moderate physical condition is required for this trail .. the experience is spectacular.

Cerro Mogotón is the highest summit in Nicaragua at 2107 masl. It is a mountainous cloud forest with abundant crystalline water, in its buffer zone there are private coffee farms. To those who wish to visit this place, I recommend taking the trail "the footprints of musunse" that is to the left at the entrance (see photo 1, it is very well marked with yellow mingos and very clean, also on that side it is owned by state of Nicaragua so you will not have problems with any property owner, access is free and the tour is approximately 4.5 kilometers one way.
