Peter is very helpful, fluent in English and Spanish. The hostel is fine, I paid 200L for a night in a standard 8 bed dorm with AC. Can't fault the place for the price

I've now been away 7 months and this is still the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. The day this crooked business gets shut down, it will be a happy day for civilisation. Please do your research on this place before you to are ripped off.

If I could give this place a 0 rating I would. DO NOT BOOK HERE I contacted the owner via FB & whatsapp to notify him of my arrival. After crossing the Guatemala/ Honduran border I arrived in la ceiba at 8:40pm in the darkness to go to this hostel which claims to have 24/7 reception in person AND all over the building but there was no one there. Neighbors tried to help me find 'Peter' the owner. No answer to the bell. No answer to the WhatsApp. This hostel will leave you stranded in the night. Again, do not book here..

As you can see from my Trip Advisor profile, I have hundreds of reviews for businesses all around the world, I also very rarely vote anything under 3 stars, so I guess you could say I'm a very easy. It's for that reason that I BEG you to avoid this 'business' at all costs. The problem started when a few of us booked a shuttle service with this 'company'. This was promised as an air conditioned, shuttle bus that would take 12 hours from La Ceiba to Leon in Nicaragua. Although we started in a mini van, we were then dumped outside and told to get in a taxi with no seat belts that would take us the rest of the 9 hours. The taxi itself overheated every 30 minutes and we later found out or driver was unlicensed, we found this out when the police stopped him and banned him from continuing into Nicaragua. We were then forced to sleep in a car at a petrol station for 8 and a half hours and in the morning, told to get a bus the rest of the way. Since then, the owner of this 'business' has read and deleted our 5 emails, blocked and ignored us and is trying his best to ensure word doesn't get out about this scam. Prior to this, I had been approached to up vote this hostal on Trip Advisor in exchange for discounts and other offers which I'm glad I ignored, therefore, I find the positive reviews here very hard to believe. I beg you all to stay elsewhere and don't waste your money with these crooks.

CRIMINALS TO BE AVOIDED BY ALL MEANS! You will find them offering boat rides or other services at the ferry dock in La Ceiba, be aware that all they offer is a scam and seriously life threatening. We accepted a boat ride to utila and were stranded in the open ocean on a tiny fishermen boat for 5 hours because they run out of fuel and one engine not working. Plus they did not have any radio and GPS and they didn't even know where the island was! The waves were 10 meters tall and the boat could have capsized at every wave. We had to call the emergency with our cell phones. Finally, after 5 hours of risking death at every wave, a guy came with a tank of fuel and we could continue to the island. Obviously my complaints were ignored by both the captain and Peter, the hostel manager, who is the one who sold us the boat ride. These guys should be in jail.
